SHE WAS BORN SEPTEMBER 3, 1834, AND DIED AUGUST 31, 1866. AT THE TIME OF ABNER'S DEATH, ELISABETH HAD PASSED AWAY, LISTED AS TWO OF HIS HEIRS WERE ANNIE B. KILGORE AND MARY E. KILGORE, MINOR CHILDREN OF JOHN O. KILGORE, OF ADAMS CO. OHIO. THE FAMILY BIBLE RECORDS ARE TORN WHERE THEIR MARRIAGE INFO IS. IT LOOKS LIKE ??ST OF AUGUST, 185?. I traced my great grandfather to Brown County, Ohio. His name was John Kilgore. He is listed on the 1860 census with his wife Elizabeth. I believe his father was William Kilgore. The 1850 census list his birth place as Kentucky. His wife Susan is listed as being born in Ohio. The children listed are William, Mary, Elizabeth, John, Joseph, Abigail, Isabel, Richard and Susan. |

| Esther, You can add Oliver Darius Kilgore to the list of children for William Kilgore. Oliver is my great grandfather. John was born 1838 in Brown County. Hannah Kilgore Bayless was my grand-mother. We do have more info and will be glad to respond. |

| I am looking for information on my great grandmother, Evangelina, or Angelina Kilgore married Robert Edward or Edward Wilson. They lived in Mason County, Ky. until around 1856 and moved to Carroll County, Mo. She was born 1827 I believe in Ohio. Any information greatly appreciated. sue_perras@yahoo.com | |

An Angeline Kilgore and Edward Wilson were married on 13 September 1849 by Anderson Helm, JP in Brown County, Ohio. The reference for this record in Brown County Ohio Marriage Records 1818-1850 is "G-168." Other Kilgore records in this same book are Oliver Killgore to Levina Gray 26 May 1826 by Thomas Shelton, JP (I suspect this is the son of William Kilgore who was living with Oliver in the 1860 Spriggs Township, Adams County, Ohio). A William Kilgore to Susan Gray 1 Feb 1833 (lic. only--so this marriage might not have taken place). Also in this book is Isabella Kilgoe to Richard Brookover, 28 July 1823. Hope this information helps some one. |

Thank you for the information. The Lavina you refer to is the first wife of Oliver Kilgore before he married Linny Ales Bradford, she was the first daughter of John Gray and Mary Jane "Polly" Stewart Gray, married Feb. 9, 1797, Mason County, Ky., and as you said Lavina and Oliver married May 26, 1826. Susan Louisa Gray and William David Kilgore were married on Feb. 1, 1833, Brown County, Ohio and had 10 children. I am both a Gray and a Kilgore. Angeline Kilgore oldest child of Lavina and Oliver is my 2x great grandmother, and as you said she married Edward Wilson, this is my grandmothers line, and my grandfather was Paul Henry Gray. I did not find the information on Lavina and Oliver until recently and had looked for a very long time, lore had it that my grandparents were cousins, and yes they were. Lavina Gray Kilgore, was both my 3x great Aunt, and my 3x great grandmother. |

in Centropolis, KS, son of JESSE BROWN and SYLVINIA WALKER. JOHN KILGORE was born 15 Jan 1835 in OH, and died 1 Jul 1888 in Franklin Co., KS. He married (1) ELIZABETH JANE HOWARD, daughter of ABNER HOWARD and NANCY KING. He married (2) LAURA J Children of JOHN KILGORE and ELIZABETH HOWARD are: ANNA BELLE KILGORE. MARY EFFIE KILGORE, b. 7 Mar 1863, Cincinnati, OH; d. 7 Apr 1933, Osawatomie, KS Children of JOHN KILGORE and LAURA J. are: OSTELLA KILGORE, b. Abt. 1871. MASSIE KILGORE, b. Abt. 1873. VERNA KILGORE, b. Abt. 1877. JAMES M. KILGORE, b. Abt. 1879. I suspect that my John O. Kilgore may be the son of Oliver Kilgore living in Adams Co. OH The 1850 census shows a son John who is the correct age for my ancestor. So far this is the only Kilgore family I have found in OH with a son John the right age. According to information I recently found but not verified yet, Oliver was born in KY. He had a brother William living in Brown Co. OH, 1850. Their father was William Kilgore born in VA 1770-71. I have land records and probate records for John O. Kilgore but nothing listing his father's name. I am looking for records to see if O. stands for Oliver. I am also searching Virginia records to find any information that would verify Oliver and William as sons of William of Virginia and to locate information on William's parents.
